University of Leeds Deploys Verint IP Video Solution

Leading British University implements Nextiva Enterprise to enhance security of students, staff and assets across its campus

WEYBRIDGE, UK, Verint Systems Inc. announced that the University of Leeds has deployed the Verint® Nextiva® Enterprise IP video solution to enhance the safety of students and facilities across the university’s campus and associated locations in West Yorkshire.

The University of Leeds is the second largest university in the UK with 30,500 students and 8,000 staff, and is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well being of its community. In support of this commitment, the university has deployed Nextiva in certain public places, both on the main campus and in a number of remote locations, including a computer cluster at Leeds General Infirmary. Nextiva will help Leeds deter crime and provide staff responsible for health and safety with the actionable intelligence needed to respond effectively to potential problems.

According to Simon Mulholland, a project manager within the Network Team at the University of Leeds, “The Verint solution is proving very successful and already delivering excellent results across our departments.” He adds, “By alerting us to any difficulties, Nextiva will help our teams prevent any incidents and improve our response time.”

Germany’s Deutsche Bahn Selects Verint Nextiva Transit Solution

Networked Video Solution Helps Enhance Security Across Major German City’s Urban Railway Network

Verint Systems Inc. today announced that German transit operator Deutsche Bahn has selected its Nextiva™ Transit solution to enhance the safety of passengers traveling across Hamburg’s urban railway network.

Hamburg, Germany’s second largest city, is home to more than 1.7 million people. Deutsche Bahn’s S-Bahn Hamburg GmbH has six lines and 67 stations with more than 147 kilometers of track, and its 164 three-part vehicles carry 500,000 passengers daily. The Nextiva solution will help the operators create a safe and secure travel environment for tourists and local residents and help combat vandalism and crime. The solution will be delivered through Verint partner Controlware GmbH.

Metro Transit manages an integrated network of buses and trains and is the 18th largest transit system in the US, with approximately 240,000 rides provided each weekday. As the principal transit provider in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, Metro Transit recently launched a multi-million bus fleet security initiative designed to further enhance passenger safety and prevent crime. As a critical component of this strategy, Nextiva Transit will help modernise the transit authority’s security infrastructure, replacing existing analogue recorders with a scalable, rugged and flexible digital video solution.
